- Why Supplement?
We all
can be in agreement with the fact that the body needs vitamins
and minerals and other key nutrients to have optimal health.
Although, many of you may be dismissing supplementation
because you think you are getting the nutrients from the
foods that you eat. Don't kid yourself! Most people are
not eating the variety of nutritious foods my eating, We
would not get all the nutrients we need if we did not supplement.
Here's why you need to supplement:
1. Tend
to eat the same foods (not enough variety)
2. Not buying foods that you know are fresh
3. Over cooking of your foods
4. Don't have the time to eat proper meals because of life
5. Don't know where the foods were grown, potency of nutrients,
dead soil, quality of processing, and many other factors.
In fact,
we have not met anyone in our 20 years of personal training
that did not need to supplement their diets. All benefited
tremendously by doing so. Supplementation is insurance.
Yes, we all want to eat the best we can and include an assortment
of grains, fruits, and vegetables in our diets, but rarely
do we. Do not risk setting your self up for mediocre health,
physical ailments, and disease. If you are serious about
your health and getting fit, you must take a quality multi-vitamin
& mineral supplement along with antioxidants ---period!!
It's
really a no-brainer! The body needs key essential vitamins
and minerals. If we are not consistently eating the right
foods to provide them, then we must supplement or you will
have poor health. I have yet to meet a person that did not
have a need for supplementation in their diet.

Supplementation
- Natural vs. Synthetic
There
are many nutrients in plants beyond vitamins and minerals
that are vital to a healthy diet. Science has discovered
hundreds of these nutrients referred to as phytonutrients.
They are discovering new ones all the time. Synthetic supplements
do not have any phytonutients in them. In our opinion it
is just senseless to take a synthetic vitamin that will
not provide you with all nutrients that are essential for
optimal health. Phytonutrients are only found in plant-based

Supplementation
- ANTIOXIDANTS
Antioxidants fight free radicals. Free radicals are a
by-product that is released from our cells. All of us
have cells in our body, so therefore we all have free
radicals in our body. Stress, exercise, pollution, and
smoking make the cells work harder and produce free radicals.
Free radicals are also called oxidants. These oxidants,
or free radicals, can help harden your arteries, damage
your skin, and greatly increase your chance of a heart
attack and stroke. This is why we need antioxidants in
our diet to attack these free radicals. Antioxidants are
found in many of the foods we eat, but again most are
not eating the varieties and amounts needed to supply
you with the required antioxidants. You will find these
in our Men & Women Formulas.
Herbal
supplementation is a market that is growing tremendously
in the last few years. Herbs can be very helpful for many
people and some herbs can cause negative side effects in
the body. Even though no herbal medicine is safe under every
condition for every person, herbs are far safer than pharmaceutical
drugs. Even common, over the counter medicines can be unsafe.Aspirin
can cause bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract and is
harmful to your liver. Education is essential when supplementing
with herbs. The botanical and herbal extracts in our Men
& Women Formulas are the best nature has to offer. There
is no second best, as we are in a class by ourselves with
these products.
Supplementation
- Omega-3 fatty acids
Read
this! It applies to you. Omega-3 fatty acids are good fats
the human body requires for optimal function of the cells.
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for normal health and
development. Without them your cells cannot function, renew
and maintain themselves properly. Omega-3s promote heart
health, increase memory, they are crucial for learning ability,
and they help brain and vision development of infants and
promote natural joint flexibility and mobility.
Obviously,
you are concerned about your health as well as your family's
health so you will want to learn more about omega-3s. Many
countries have set recommended daily allowances for omega-3s,
but there are none in the U.S. yet. In my opinion, with
all of the overwhelming research indicating that omega-3
fatty acid deficiencies can be detrimental to a persons
health, the U.S. will set recommended daily allowances in
the very near future.
Do not
dismiss the importance of omega 3's! I'm telling you when
you read up on them it will blow your mind on how they can
have a significant impact on our health. Here are a few
facts to motivate you to research further:·

diet rich in omega-3 nutrients has been shown to contribute
to a 50% reduction in the risk of death from heart disease.

with the right amount of omega-3s in their diet lower
risk of death from all causes by 27%.

Omega
3s may help prevent and possibly treat Alzheimer's disease.

Infants
need omega fatty acids to ensure that their nervous systems,
immune systems, and vision develop properly.

Your
body uses essential fatty acids to lubricate the skin
and tissues.

The
bodies cells depend on omega 3 fatty acids to function
normally, a deficiency can lead to hair loss, dry skin
(hello wrinkles!), skin rashes, constantly feeling cold,
easy bruising, joint inflammation and repeated infections
due to weakened cell membranes.

Research
shows that a deficiency in fatty acids may increase your
risk of developing a mood disorder, such as depression
or anxiety.
Don't
use money as an excuse not to supplement. Be honest with
yourself you will take that same money that can provide
you with optimal health and spend it on junk food, pop,
cigarettes, nails, hair, cable, and entertainment. I'm sure
you will agree we could go on and on with things we spend
money on that should not be a higher priority than our health!
In the long run you will spend more money on doctors, prescriptions
and time off work than you ever would on essential supplementation
of your diet. Putting money aside for a moment, the greatest
loss you will have will be living a life with mediocre health
and possibly ailments and disease.
Doe's

We just know from working with so many people through out
the years that nobody that we have ever met or worked with
is supplying their bodies with all the essential nutrients
the body requires for normal health. This includes ourselves.
Most of us at least need to supplement with a quality vitamin
and mineral, antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids.
